What's New in Vuforia Studio?

With 2025 now fully underway, we are delighted to deliver the first release of the year. This feature-rich release brings new upgrades that work to elevate Model Target tracking capabilities, while simplifying authoring for several functions and appearance setups. Read on to learn more about Vuforia Studio 9.24.0.

New: State Based Model Target Capabilities

We are excited to introduce new State-based Model Target Capabilities for Model Targets. With this new addition to Studio, customers can continuously track an object that is capable of being in different states and configurations. So, whether an object has parts that need to be added, removed, or even manipulated, customers can still easily track their model targets.

This enhancement gives customers the ability to build experiences that support service technicians and factory workers with assembly procedures. Customers can easily import files and data from Creo Illustrate, CAD models, and even Windchill to allow for a seamless experience with state-based model targets.

For more information see: Model Target

New: Predefined Shaders for 3D Models

Take control of 3D objects with our predefined set of shaders in Studio. With this update, customers can utilize standard shaders to build better experiences around specific parts of models, or the entire model, all without requiring expertise in shader programming. These parameters can be applied and utilized to:

  • Highlight a selected model item.
  • Use “Flow” to indicate the direction of a movement.
  • Use different Cut shaders to focus on inside geometry.
  • And much more! Please see our Help Center documentation for our complete list of shader options.

For more information, see: Shaders

New: Number Input Widget

In our new release, we are introducing a standalone Number Input Widget. Users previously had to define either text or number type input within the Text Input Widget to include numerical data. We have simplified authoring user input fields by separating Number Input into its own widget. This way it will be much more straightforward to author experiences requiring numeric user input.

For more information, see: Number Input

New: Zinc Widget for Remote Assistance

We are excited to introduce Zinc, a remote communication and collaboration tool that can be utilized to boost efficiency. With the new Zinc widget, users can easily access remote assistance from experts via the PTC Zinc App.
